Frozen at Disneyland Paris: first look inside the new Frozen land
One thing I’ve learned from family trips to Disneyland® Paris is that children often remember the little moments just as much as the big ones. Mine still talk about the snack break that saved the afternoon, the buggy we packed with everything except the one thing we needed, and the Character hug that made the whole day feel special. So yes, my family loves the resort, but World of Frozen has now become the thing my children keep talking about most. Anna, Elsa and Olaf have a lot to answer for in our house.

World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris
World of Frozen opened on 29 March 2026 as part of the transformation of the former Walt Disney Studios® Park into Disney Adventure World, the reimagined second park. If you still think of it as Walt Disney Studios Park, you’re not alone. Disney first told families to circle March 29 in their diaries, and having now been with my own children, I can see why there was such a countdown.
The new Frozen land welcomes Guests into the Kingdom of Arendelle on a life-size scale, with Arendelle Bay, Arendelle Castle and that beautiful Nordic look running all the way through it. What surprised me when we went was how much there was to enjoy before we had even reached the main ride. We were pulled between taking in the village details and the excitement of heading for Frozen Ever After, so we did what families often do and took our time with a snack, a wander and plenty of “yes, we are going there in a minute”.
A first look inside World of Frozen
The bit that surprised me most when we went was the walk into Arendelle itself. You can wander through the village, take in the views across Arendelle Bay and look up towards The North Mountain, and it genuinely does make you slow down. Not in a grand, dramatic way. More in the way children slow you down because they’ve spotted something tiny that you nearly walked past.
Disney has described the area as an “extraordinary new world where magic meets adventure”, but for families, the useful bit is simpler: there’s space to wander, pause and enjoy the details between the bigger moments. World of Frozen gives families room to explore rather than simply queue, ride and leave. That worked well for us because it meant the day felt full of little discoveries, not just one headline attraction.
Anna and Elsa, Olaf and a Royal Encounter
No trip to World of Frozen would feel complete without seeing Anna and Elsa. Rencontre Royale, A Royal Encounter with Elsa and Anna, is inside Arendelle Castle, but this is one to plan properly because a free Virtual Queue reservation is required and places are limited. I was glad we knew that before we went, because it meant we could keep the day feeling relaxed rather than promising anything too early.
There is also A Celebration in Arendelle, the show in Arendelle Bay featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff. We checked the Disneyland Paris Mobile App on the day rather than building the whole afternoon around a guess, which I’d absolutely do again. I also kept the chat loose when the children asked who they might see, because Characters and experiences can vary, and “let’s see who we spot” keeps the magic nicely open.
The smaller story touches were the part I liked more than I expected. You may see “Valley of the Trolls” mentioned online, but the official attraction wording is Troll Valley, and there are little nods to enjoy around town too. My youngest loved looking for Mossie, while I was keeping an eye out for Rúna, Oaken and all those lovely details that make Arendelle feel like somewhere you can properly explore.
The Ice Palace and Frozen Ever After

Elsa’s Ice Palace was one of the real wow moments for us. The main attraction is Frozen Ever After, a musical boat ride through Arendelle, Troll Valley, The North Mountain and into the Ice Palace. It was exactly what I hoped for in one sense and much more atmospheric in another. Mine came off full of chatter, already talking about their favourite parts and asking when we could ride again.
I had seen people online saying the queues were really long when it first opened, so I was bracing us for a long wait in the line. Thank goodness, that was not what happened for us. I’m not sure whether the number of people was lower that day or whether things are simply more organised now, but we had no real issue with queues, which made the whole morning feel much calmer.
What I liked most is that it has no minimum height requirement, so lots of families can ride together. There are some darker sections, a splash risk and family-friendly thrills, so younger or more cautious children may appreciate a little heads-up before they ride. That said, the music, story and familiar faces make it feel like a really special family attraction.
The village, forest and mountain moments made the attraction feel like a proper story rather than a quick scene change. Those are the rides I find easiest with children, because there’s always something to talk about afterwards while you’re finding the next snack. Ours came off talking over each other, which is usually a very good sign.
Attractions in Disney Adventure World
World of Frozen sits within the wider transformation of Disney Adventure World, with Adventure Bay, Adventure Way and more new experiences all part of the same milestone. In real life, that made the day feel fuller and more exciting, with plenty to enjoy beyond one single ride.
That matters if you’re planning a family holiday rather than a one-day visit. It means there is more to balance your time around, especially if Frozen is the main draw for part of the family and the rest of the park is calling too. The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge also sits in Adventure Way, with Disney Princesses dining mentioned by Disneyland Paris and views towards the new nighttime spectacular area.
If you’ve seen World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort online, I’d still treat Paris as its own trip rather than expecting a copy-and-paste version. That version opened first, but Disneyland Paris has its own park story, with walkways, water views and a family rhythm that feels very Paris on the day.
Nordic Crowns Tavern
Nordic Crowns Tavern was one of the places I was most interested to try, mostly because a good lunch stop can make such a difference on a family park day. The quick-service restaurant serves traditional Nordic delicacies, and having somewhere themed but practical nearby made a real difference after a busy morning.
By the time we stopped there, everyone was ready for food and a little reset. It worked well for us. Lunch is not just lunch at a Disney Park with children. It’s a chance to pause, talk about what you’ve done so far and get ready for the rest of the afternoon. Because the tavern sits right in the heart of World of Frozen, it helped the area feel complete, with the food, story and setting all working together.
What to expect when you visit
If you had the words “open on March 29” stuck in your head, you were definitely not alone. World of Frozen opened on 29 March 2026, the same day the second park became Disney Adventure World, so this was not just an attraction launch. It was a full reintroduction of the park.
For families, the biggest thing to expect is excitement. This is one of the most anticipated additions the resort has seen in years, and when we went, it had that lovely sense of everyone heading towards something new together. That said, the queues were much easier than I had built up in my head, and I was very glad I had not over-worried the children about waiting. If Frozen Ever After is top of your list, plan your day, keep snacks handy and leave a bit of flex so you can enjoy the land properly.
Planning your visit
Give World of Frozen at least half a day, reserve the Royal Encounter Virtual Queue early, and check show times in the Disneyland Paris app on the day.
Having done it with my own family, I would not treat World of Frozen as a quick add-on. I’d give yourself enough time to enjoy the land properly, have a good look around Disney Adventure World and leave room for those little pauses that often become part of the best memories.
Disney Premier Access is available for the attraction as a paid option in limited quantity, subject to availability. Disney Premier Access Ultimate may also be part of some family planning, but I’d still check what is included before you travel rather than assume every new ride is covered in the same way. From experience, one shorter queue can sometimes make the afternoon feel much easier.
It is also worth remembering that Disney PhotoPass™+ is available for some experiences, which could be useful if everyone wants to be in the picture for once. That’s rare in my family. Usually I’m either behind the camera, holding the coats, or doing the parent shuffle where you try to keep a bag, a drink and a small child upright at the same time.
The thing I’d do next time is build in even more wandering time. I thought the ride would be the main event, and it was a huge part of the day, but the slower walk-around details were what helped the children settle into the land. For me, that is what makes World of Frozen feel so exciting. It is not just that a much-loved story from Walt Disney Animation Studios now has a bigger home at Disneyland Paris. It is that the whole area works for families in a happy, practical, snack-fuelled way real park days actually happen.
